A Ray of Light
Ileana was truly a ray of light who touched so many lives. From her unmistakable fashion, style, elegance, and beauty, to her infectious sense of humor, kindness, and grace, she brought warmth and joy wherever she went. She had a remarkable way of lending a helping hand and showing up wholeheartedly for her friends and loved ones.
She carried herself with grace, intelligence, and quiet confidence, the kind that did not need to announce itself because it was felt.
Born and raised with deep Puerto Rican pride, Ileana believed in real connection, the kind built through listening, understanding, and honoring people’s stories. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen and valued.
Ileana was thoughtful and intentional. She cared deeply about doing things well and doing them with heart. She believed that technology should serve humanity, that representation matters, and that our words have power. But beyond what she believed, she lived those values through mentorship, friendship, laughter, and unwavering loyalty.
She celebrated the wins of others as if they were her own. She showed up for people in big milestones and in quiet moments. She was the friend who checked in, the colleague who uplifted, the daughter and sister who loved fiercely.
Her brilliance was matched by her kindness. Her ambition was grounded in purpose. Her legacy is not only in the work she accomplished, but in the lives she touched, the confidence she instilled, and the love she gave freely.
To know Ileana was to feel supported, inspired, and reminded that excellence and empathy can exist beautifully together.
She remains, always, a bridge between cultures, between people, between vision and heart.
The Ileana Alamo Garay Legacy Scholarship Fund
In honor of Ileana Alamo Garay, we are establishing a legacy scholarship to support young women pursuing degrees in communications, marketing, and project management — fields that reflect her brilliance, creativity, and heart.
The scholarship will award $1,500 to a female undergraduate student in Puerto Rico and $1,500 to a Latina pursuing a master’s degree in Washington, DC.
Our goal is to raise $24,000 to create the foundation for the scholarship awards and build a lasting legacy in Ileana’s name. Every contribution helps transform her light into opportunity for the next generation.
